It is ridiculous, they've resorted to name calling. It seems like ever since the cross posting blitzkrieg start several months ago Jalopnik has become a way more hostile place.

I wish they’d give some sort of notification saying when a root post has been cross-posted elsewhere and at what locations so I know when to stay the hell out. That thread last week about possible future banning of “gas guzzlers” that got cross-posted to Gawker turned into a nasty environment.

It’s all about clicks and negativity does the job every time. I think something like “the worst car I ever owned” would make some sense... everyone remembering their second college car that never lived up to the first, or when they shelled out and the dealership and got lemon’d. Vs, say, why I hate a car I’ve driven maybe once and never owned. The guy with the PT cruiser was justified because his happened to fall apart at the seams.
